Sweden yoga retreat

Join us in the remote far north of Swedish Lapland at one of our most spectacular yoga retreat locations. You’ll sleep in sophisticated treehouses designed by Scandinavia’s foremost architects, nestled high up in the trees of a beautiful pine forest. Practice yoga with Zephyr Wildman, meet the Sami reindeer herders, relax in a treehouse spa and and hike, bike or forage in the forests.

We have teamed up with Treehotel to create an exclusive and breathtaking yoga retreat in the treetops. Located in a remote and beautiful wild forest, this is a place to experience a rare stillness and silence while you savour expansive views from your stylish accommodation.

Each day you’ll practice yoga and meditation with Zephyr and have the option to add hiking, fat biking and foraging activities. You can also spend a day with the Sami reindeer herders. Or you can just stay home and relax with unlimited access to our forest spa or book yourself in to the nearby Arctic Baths.  November is an excellent time to see the Northern Lights and if the skies are favourable, this is pretty much the perfect place to enjoy them. Heading into winter this is retreat is a cosy long weekend, created to give you time for deep rest and a complete reset.

Accommodation

We have accommodation for 16 people in 7 completely unique treehouses and 4 traditional Swedish guesthouse rooms.

The treehouses are reached by ramp, bridge or electric stairs. Each has contemporary interiors, cosy bedrooms, a bathroom with a sink and toilet. Showers are located in the treehouse sauna nearby, apart from the Dragonfly, Biosphere and Seventh room treehouse which have their own shower.

The Mirrorcube is an exciting hide-out among the trees, camouflaged by mirrored walls reflecting their surroundings. The six windows provide a stunning panoramic view. It has a double bed, lounge and toilet. Showers are located in the forest spa close by.

The Cabin is like a capsule in the trees located high up on a sharp hillside overlooking the Lule River valley. It has a double bed, lounge area and toilet and a rooftop terrace. Showers are located in the forest spa close by.

The Red cabin is one of the more spacious treehouses, set on the edge of forest with incredible views over the valley. The treehouse is 22m² and has a double bed downstairs, and a second bed in the sleeping loft , a cosy living room and a toilet. Showers are located in the forest spa close by.

The Bird’s Nest is a cosy treehouse within a gigantic bird’s nest! It has a bunk bed and a separate queen bed, making it the perfect treehouse for 2/3 friends to share. Showers are located in the forest spa close by. The treehouse is reached via an electric ladder and guests will be able to take smaller bags into the treehouse and use nearby luggage storage for bigger items.

The UFO is a super comfortable treehouse comprising of a large round room with a double bed. Showers are located in the forest spa close by. The treehouse is reached via an electric ladder and guests will be able to take smaller bags into the treehouse and use nearby luggage storage for bigger items.

The Seventh room is our largest treehouse located ten metres up in the pines. It has two bedrooms, a lounge with spectacular views and a cosy fireplace, a net patio and a bathroom with toilet and shower.

The Dragonfly is another large treehouse mounted six metres above ground on hundred year old pine with magnificent view of the valley. It has two bedrooms, a spacious lounge and a bathroom with toilet and shower.

The Guesthouse rooms are in a traditional Swedish farmhouse surrounded by beautiful nature. The large wooden house looks out over the valley and has 4 quaint and comfortable bedrooms and 2 small lounges on the top floor. One room has an ensuite bathroom and the other share 2 bathrooms and separate toilets. Downstairs is a cosy front room with a fireplace, along with the group dining area and kitchen. While you wont be sleeping up in the trees you’ll be enjoying the incredible forest location, the forest spa and amenities.

Your retreat menu

Your vegetarian meals will be created by our expert local chef team and served in our warm and homely dining room. With their passion for food and for sourcing the very best local produce, the Treehotel is known for creating a wonderful variety of unique and delicious dishes.

You’ll be served a hearty brunch and dinner each day. This is an alcohol free retreat.

Travel 

Getting to your Lapland Yoga Retreat from UK (mail us if you’d like advice on travel options from another location) 

Treehotel is near the village of Harads, 100 km from Luleå airport or 15 km from Boden train station.  This gives you a number of travel options:

Option 1: Fly to Stockholm and take the night train to Boden.

There are several daily direct flights into Stockholm with BA, SAS, Norwegian Air and Ryanair. Flight time from London is 2.5 hours.

The night train departs from Stockholm Central at around 21.00 and arrives at 10.40 the following day.  For your return you depart around 22.00 and arrive back in Stockholm around 8.30.

Option 2: Fly to Stockholm and take a domestic flight to Luleå.

You can fly to Luleå via Stockholm with Norwegian Air and SAS. Flight time from Stockholm is 70 minutes and transfer time to Harads is around 60 minutes.

Option 3: Take the train to Stockholm and the night train to Boden.

If you have the time for slow travel it’s easy to travel from London to Stockholm by train, it is a wonderful 2 day journey with a lot to see on the way.  You can travel by Eurostar from London to Brussels and then take connecting trains to Hamburg. After an overnight stay in Hamburg you travel onto Copenhagen and then onto Stockholm. Seat61 has all the details you need.

Airport transfers to and from Luleå airport or Boden station are included in your retreat package if you arrive at 10.am into Boden or 16.15 into Lulea.

Who is this trip for?

Our treehouse retreat has something for everyone. While the yoga is slow flow style and layered so it is suitable for all levels.

Accommodation is luxury standard but be aware that most of the treehouses do not have their own showers, you’ll need to use the shower block close by.

We have added trips for you to explore the Swedish wilderness and connect with local Sami culture but you can also stay local and relax in your beautiful accommodation.
