23 November 27 November

Set against the backdrop of the sea, our upcoming retreat at Tresanton in St Mawes, Cornwall, offers a program of daily yoga, coastal walks, breathwork and deep rest. Guests can join the optional morning sea swims, the hot tub, infrared sauna and spa treatments. We provide nourishing, locally sourced food that is gluten, dairy and sugar-free.

This retreat is for those who wish to deepen their practice, refine their inner life, and step forward with greater clarity, courage and trust.

‘There’s something quite magical about November at the supremely cosy Tresanton Hotel in St Mawes, overlooking the postcard-perfect Falmouth Bay. Here, in between cosy fireside chats with home-brewed herbal teas and still-warm Tunisian orange cake, Wildman guides both established and budding yogis through daily yoga and meditation practice, while Polizzi, a conscious breathwork expert, shares simple practices that will help us all better tune in to our internal rhythms and feel happier and more grounded within ourselves.’

Nestled on the edge of St. Mawes, one of Cornwall’s most picturesque fishing villages, Hotel Tresanton offers a sanctuary where time slows, and the rhythm of the sea sets the tone for reflection and renewal. A cluster of whitewashed buildings with Mediterranean charm, Tresanton is perched above the sparkling waters of the south-facing bay. Every room is graced with sweeping sea views, inviting you to wake up to the sound of waves and the call of seabirds.

The hotel’s mosaic-floored restaurant and Pelargonium-filled terrace provide the perfect setting to savour exquisite meals which are fresh, seasonal, and inspired by the sea. By day, sunlit and tranquil; by night, candlelit and enchanting. This is a place to breathe deeply, pause, and reconnect with your inner self.

Breathwork with Charlie Polizzi

Your breath reveals how your unconscious mind is processing your current world. Needless to say you can tell a lot about someone by the way they breathe. Each of us has a unique breathing pattern. It is as unique as our fingerprint. When you change the way you breathe you can change the way you show up in your life.

We will start the week with Breath Fundamentals: Learn to slow the breath, arrive in your body, notice how you feel and where you are holding. Gently opening the mind to the power of your own breath.

You will receive two fully facilitated Transformational Breath sessions during your stay. Transformational Breath works on the physical, mental/emotional and spiritual aspects of our being. It is a deep self healing breathwork practice that uses body mapping, toning and movement to open the breath and release negative emotions stored in the body. This is deep healing work to help find a sense of ease and clarity.

Benefits may include: greater energy, reduced stress and anxiety, relaxation, a release of physical tension, strengthened body-mind connection and connection to others, emotional release and improved sleep.

Yoga with Zephyr Wildman

Immersion into the Five Virtues of a Yogi.

Shraddha (Faith)
We begin by creating a nurturing, grounded space. Through gentle practice, intention setting and deep rest, we reconnect to what is always holding and supporting us. Seeds are planted. Trust is restored.

Virya (Courage)
With the steady rhythm of the ocean beside us, we cultivate strength, stamina and bold-hearted presence. Through embodied yoga and breath, we explore what it means to stand strong in the face of uncertainty and meet life with a steady back and open front.

Smriti (Remembering)
We turn inward to remember what truly matters. Our values. Our intentions. The wisdom of lived experience. The tools and techniques that have carried us this far. This is a day of reconnection and meaningful reflection.

Samadhi (Absorption)
A day of presence. Wild coastal swims, conscious walking, mindful eating, deep meditation. Practicing undivided attention in everything we do. Resting in simplicity. Allowing life to be fully experienced.

Prajna (Wisdom)
As the retreat draws to a close, we refine discernment and clarity. From steadiness and openness, wise judgment naturally emerges. We leave with insight, direction and the confidence to choose our path skillfully, held in loving awareness.

Cornwall Retreat at Hotel Tresanton

14 October 2024 18 October 2024

Take a few days for yourself. Join Charlie Polizzi and Zephyr Wildman for a wonderful week of yoga, walking and pranayama/breath work this October at The Star in Alfriston. Alfriston is a lovely village set in the foot of the East Sussex Downs. On the banks of the Cuckmere River, the sea and the magnificent Seven Sisters chalk cliffs are within walking distance.

The Star is a 15th century inn, with additions from the 1930s and 1960s, located in Alfriston, a traditional downland village with medieval roots. The Star, housed in a mixture of new and old buildings, has been totally rebuilt, with new roofs, new wooden windows, many trees planted and its 30 bedrooms and bathrooms remodelled and newly decorated.

We will be offering 2-3 hours of guided walking each day on the beautiful surrounding South Downs. Not for the faint hearted. You will need good walking boots/shoes and possibly wet weather gear as we plan to walk come rain or shine.

Every evening Charlie Polizzi will be teaching 45 minutes of pranayama/breath work. To breathe consciously is to become utterly present, calm the stress system and gain mastery over the mind. When we deliberately choose to become aware of the breath, we can use it like a tool to anchor and bring stability to body and mind.

The breath work is not suitable for pregnant women or those who have had surgery in the last two years unless you have consent from your doctor.

Full Board
Buffet or cooked breakfast to order for those who want it, a vegan buffet lunch of a soup and selection of salads and a three course dinner. There will always be a vegan option and a fish/white meat option main course. No one will raise an eyebrow if you feel like having a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening however, all alcohol will be charged separately.

This is your week to relax and recharge.

From £TBC based on a Classic Juliet room single occupancy.
