Faroe Islands Yoga & Hiking Retreat with Reclaim Yourself

23 June 28 June

£1,795 – £2,295

Pioneering Yoga in wild islands, home to the puffins

Join our pioneering retreat with yoga teacher Zephyr Wildman in the remote and unexplored Faroe Islands. Located in the Norwegian Sea between Iceland and Scotland, this isolated archipelago of 18 tiny islands is known for its rugged beauty, dramatic landscape, wild coastline and resident puffins. Enjoy daily yoga, hikes around the archipelago and a private boat trip to see the puffins.

Combine this retreat with our Midnight Sun Retreat in Iceland to create an epic 10 day Nordic adventure.

Our retreat base is a hotel set in a quiet valley just outside of Tórshavn. Each day we will embark an adventure together, driving to different islands to hike up mountains for fantastic views of beautiful fjords and dramatic coastlines.

You’ll start your days with dynamic flow yoga class with Zephyr to awaken your mind and body. Your evening practice will yin and restorative yoga, meditation and deep relaxation to help you unwind and settle after your days out in the wilderness.

Our hikes will include Villingadalsfjall, a four hour adventure up the highest mountain on Viðoy island and Hvíthamar, a shorter hike on Eysturoy island where you will get an epic view of Funningsfjørður, one of the most beloved fjords in the Faroe Islands. We will also take the ferry to Kalsoy and hike to Kallur, the iconic lighthouse. There are options to join a guided kayak adventure and add a private boat trip explore one of the puffin islands off Vagar.

The Faroe Islands are known for their unpredictable weather so we may need be flexible on hiking timings and locations, but we have long mid-summer days to give us plenty of flexibility. You’ll have time to explore Tórshavn, one of Europe’s smallest capital cities with its colour harbour and quaint cobbled alleyways lined with turf roof houses. Our retreat location also includes a spa so you can book yourself in for some extra relaxation between all your adventures.

* We recommend adding our Iceland Midnight Sun Retreat to your trip. We will take the night ferry from Tórshavn and sail to Seyðisfjörður, a beautiful town in the eastern fjords, before heading to the retreat in north Iceland for a long weekend exploring the geothermal wilderness, whale watching and visiting 3 epic thermal baths.

Your retreat accommodation & menu

We have 18 places on this retreat. We will be staying at a stylish hotel tucked away in a valley, overlooking Tórshavn and the surrounding landscape. We have 6 private and 5 twin rooms in the main hotel and 2 private rooms in the Annex building nearby. The rooms are light and spacious and all are ensuite.

Note this is a large hotel, so we wont have exclusive use. Options are fairly limited in the Faroe Islands so we are pleased to have selected one that is Burðardygt Vinnulív (the Faroese Sustainable Business Initiative). The hotel offers very comfortable rooms, great views and its own spa and a peaceful yoga room.

Our local chefs will be creating delicious meals each day using fresh, local produce. The menu will include fish and meat, so please check with us if you require vegetarian or vegan options. Herbal teas, black tea, coffee and water are included in your retreat.
